We’ve all got our problems, all got our cross to bear.
Some things start out innocent, some things with a prayer.
But it’s neither low nor high road, where life’s paths connect.
We can fight it all we want, but our destiny’s perfect.
And we find ourselves in paradise, encircled by a Hell,
exactly there where Angels dared to ring the warning bell.
I don’t know if I’ll be here,
I don’t know if I’ll care.
I don’t know if I can take another day
of this affair.
Maybe I’ll die tomorrow, and then what would they say?
A real nice guy, salt of the earth, an’ never erred nor strayed.
In other words a perfect sheep, my life never my own,
but they don’t know, I strayed alright, but had to stay at home.
I hear her words, echoing, ’round an’ ’round my brain.
Free fallin’ deep, deeper in love, it was totally insane.
No one likes a loser, but the poorest go all in,
with nothing left to lose, it’s either sink or swim.
As life’s seconds rush on by, we’re forced to play our hand,
I thought I’d won a jackpot, but I didn’t understand.
