Feeling Old

You make it so hard, without knowing you do.
I was never down when I thought of you.

We are our own worst enemy.
Torment ourselves to misery.
Should we have said that what we spoke?
Is it the unsaid which hurts most?

I’m an old devil-may-care, fire in heart and soul.
My horns drown in grey hair, won’t admit I’m too old.

But I’m feeling old (now).
I’m feeling old, tired and grey.
Yeah I’m feeling old.
My Time’s comin’, got no more to say.
I’m feeling old.

Though my spirit’s young, fresh and strong,
soon the Reaper will come along.
And I’ll just be a short dull muse,
fading fast in yesterday’s news.

And it’s so true what they say, you’re as old as you feel.
And when I was with you, feeling young was so real.

CHORUS

Too old to lie, but not to die.
Too old to try, but not to cry.

But I’m feeling old (now).
I’m feeling old, tired and grey.
Yeah I’m feeling old.
My Time’s comin’, just one thing to say.
I’m feeling old …

… and I didn’t break your heart; I wouldn’t if I could have!
