It’s been longer than I dare to remember,
I’d forgotten I could feel this way.
I was naked in the coldest December,
fading fast with the deepest shade of grey. But
You warmed the cockles of my heart,
tore the cancer from my dying world apart.
You erased the painted smile on my face,
lifted my burdened soul with your grace.
Steadied the rudder of my hopeless tailspin,
gave me shelter from the hailstorm I was in.
I can never pay you back for your favour.
My gentle, compassionate lifesaver.
