Tell The Truth

My gran, God bless, used to enquire,
“Where’ve you been you little liar?”
At my guilt-ridden face she’d look to heaven,
“Tell the truth and shame the Devil!”

Tell the truth, for it will out.

Tell The Truth.

Only children and fools tell the truth,
our innocence lost with our youth.
But there’s truth to be found in wine!
And some brave souls who’ve shown some spine.

PRE-CHORUS

CHORUS

To tell the truth it’s a cryin’ shame,
a life of lies pays off in spades.
From first-degree to laissez-faire.
The Devil laughs, the Gods don’t care.
