Where’re We Heading?

Suddenly stop and think quite hard, have I been here before?
My déjà vu says yes, but I’m not sure.
But like a well watched film, I know the scenes; notes of the music score,
only the heroine is diff’rent; but that’s all.

And the scene’s come ’round, where we’ve grown apart,
and that’s where we start askin’.

Oh, oh, oh, where’re we headin’?
Oh, oh, oh, where’re we headin’?
Oh, oh, oh, where’re we headin’?
Where’re we headin’?
Where’re we headin’?

Our time together, though passionate, was almost all chilly.
Familiarity just breeds apathy.
And like a sad love song, I know the words; can sing in harmony.
But have to drink to make it seem interesting.

When the bridge comes ’round, we’re still floatin’ along,
but we should be really askin’.

CHORUS

And I’m scheming ’bout what to say to you; ’bout how and when and why.
In my head I’ve worked out all the lines. / a perfect allegory.
But the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry,
It’s then I contemplate in silence so you don’t cry.

It’s too much too bear, heavy silence crashing, / the loud silence crushing,
instead we should just be askin’.

CHORUS
