Explanation

Nothing too difficult with these lyrics.

VERSE 1: Starts with conspirational suggestions, that secret messages are posted in public for consumption by members of a secret society and that TV programmes are broadcasting subliminal, hypnotic messages to disinform the general public.
PRE-CHORUS 1: States that there is no more time left to alter the course of events, the psychopaths are in control. Rich oligarchs have bought the politicians who seem hell bent on destroying national uniqueness and replacing the ancient, colourful european peoples with an imported submissive, grey, orwellian society.
CHORUS 1: Laments the destruction of education and parental apathy, the intolerance and inhumanity of religion (which are killing and maiming (clitoris circumcision)) but how it is only ever the general public which is at risk (the leaders, who make the laws to protect their citizens, shielding themselves with over-the-top, expensive, personal protection).
VERSE 2: The plethora of laws and regulations which result in the plebs spending an inordinate amount of their lives with compliance. This control mechanism robs them of time. Whilst believing that they live in a free democracy, they are infact (the ideal) slaves to the system. Bemoans the fact that a brainwashed general public echoes the government’s sentiments and dissenting voices are either self-censored (think PC (political correctness)) or actually forbidden by laws. Effectively the citizens have no rights and, by doing nothing to alter events, are actively guilty of encouraging further laws and restrictions upon their freedoms.
PRE-CHORUS 2: Offers a little hope for the future by stating that the governmental monster is predestined to fail (think communism) and is already out of control (think TBTF, QE, ZIRP, NIRP, cash bans, world conflicts, refugee crisis) and that the desire for freedom will ultimately fuel a bloody revolution whose battle-cry will be “Nemesis” (retribution and just punishment for those responsible).
CHORUS 2: Rues the printing (QE) of massive sums of unbacked currencies and gilded government statistics (GDP/inflation/unemployment) which paper over the real world situation. Laments the fact that government serves the richest lobbyists and that the Press (which is 90% owned by just 6 corporations (lobbyists) in the U.S., for example) is no longer a critical organ but a well-greased propaganda mouthpiece. When speaking the truth is labeled hate (currently very true in Germany for anyone who raises a disagreeing word against Merkel’s refugee dictate) and that, because all the signs are there, all the points raised in the chorus are already in effect, we (in the U.S., U.K. and E.U.) are already effectively living in a fascist police state.

I originally wrote the song with three verses but had to chop a verse and pre-chorus to fit the musical melody. As a result the original story is a little discontinuous.
The song was inspired by a bill-poster in a city street which read:

THE MEMBERS OF THE TRIBE
WISH
TO SHARE WITH YOU
IN ACT AND THOUGHT,
THEIR TRIBUTE
TO WHAT THEY DO
WHEN THEY DO
WHAT THEY DO
ON
JUNE 18,19,20,21

And that effectively wrote the first two lines of the first verse.
The last two lines of the first verse were actually inspired by something I noticed when watching TV.
It was the closing of an ARD (German BBC equivalent) football report. I don’t like/watch football (I was watching it as my wife is our family’s football fan) and so my eyes were certainly wandering. Behind the studio presenter was a smallish screen which flashed three images in quick succession. A word, a symbol and another word. I was pretty shocked and asked my wife whether she’d noticed anything? Anything in the background? Any flashing images? She hadn’t. Modern technology, being what it is, gives us access to time-shifted viewing so I replayed the footage, so that my wife could see what I’d seen.
I can’t remember the exact (German) words, but they were something along the lines of “TOLERANCE” and “RESPECT” and the picture “blitzed” inbetween these briefly flashed words was the “Peace for Paris” symbol. I wish, retrospectively, that I’d recorded the short sequence for posterity.

The rest of the song then rants about/laments the current dictatorial (unelected EU presidents), dire economic and dangerous war-mongering western political leadership.
The “writing’s on the wall” (from the Bible (Daniel 5:5-31), in which the prophet interprets some mysterious writing that a disembodied hand has inscribed on the palace wall, telling King Belshazzar that he will be overthrown.) is an idiom expressing ill-portent, and the choruses bemoan:
1: the excesses of bureaucratic meddling in education. (there is a Daily Mail reference to banning playing in the playground back in 2010) through to their control of schools to a level which the third Reich would have been proud of (banning words, rewriting nursery rhymes, encouraging an informant mentality etc. etc.) and parent’s acquiescence to this State control.
2: unbacked currencies, cherry picked economic statistics the indifference to disfigurement and murder in the name of religion.
3: Governments which serve the very few, the mainstream media, which is a Government mouthpiece, and being branded a nazi or racist for speaking the truth. Summing all this up as a fascist State. As applicable to the U.S. and U.K. as to the E.U.

“Every soul who thinks they’re free is the best of slaves” is derived from Germany’s Shakespeare, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, from his book “Die Wahlverwandschaften” originally: ”Niemand ist mehr Sklave, als der sich für frei hält, ohne es zu sein.”
