She’s Like

She flew into my life,
like a bird of Paradise.
She blew me off my feet,
like a ton of T.N.T.

She stole from me my heart,
like a classic work of art.
She took my breath away,
like a cat a sleepin’ babe.

But now I’m on my own again
and it’s driving me insane!
How did I manage to lose my girl
THIS TIME?
What did I do?
What did I say?
And does it matter anyway?
‘cos my luck’s not gonna change
THIS LIFE.

She occupied my thoughts,
like a breakneck juggernaut.
She filled my heart with joy,
like a child with a new toy.

She gave soul to my life,
when she left she took my smile.
She’s the one I still miss,
like a face starved of a kiss.

And I’m still on my o-w-n
